The Edge Awards reward organisations that provide outstanding learning opportunities for 14–25 year-olds

The Edge Awards is open to all organisations in the UK, large and small, public, private and voluntary (except organisations whose primary role is to provide training). There are three award categories in each of the twelve regions around the UK:

  • Edge Small Business Award (under 50 employees)
  • Edge Business Award (over 50 employees)
  • Practical Learner Award for an individual nominated by an employer

This year, Edge will be awarding £300,000 to employers providing quality apprenticeships, excellent work placements and other great practical learning opportunities. Winning employers must demonstrate how they will invest their award money in training for young people. The Outstanding Young Practical Learner category provides an opportunity for an individual to improve their skills and knowledge or help others benefit from their experience of practical learning. Edge’s national awards will be announced and presented on the Edge Awards night in November. Prize for the big national awards are as follows:

  • National winner: Edge small business award: £25,000
  • National winner: Edge business award: £50,000
  • National Practical Learner Award: £10,000

There’s also an award in association with The Sunday Telegraph:

  • Business Award for Investment in Practical Learning: £50,000

All prizes will be in the form of a grant to be invested in training opportunities for young people.

Your entry must reach them by 29 June 2007.
