The South West Manufacturing Network has been designed to promote, co-ordinate, lobby, secure potential funding and generally demonstrate the sectors strength in a single voice to influence key regional decision makers. It has been recognised that there needs to be a regional coherent plan to address the competitiveness of the manufacturing businesses and their supply chains especially the SME’s.

Membership of the network consists of senior executives from manufacturing companies based in the South West.

Its vision is: To be the leading voice in the South West for the manufacturing sector.

Its Mission is to:

  • Communicate with all, the benefits of manufacturing to the South West
  • Promote the attractiveness of manufacturing careers in the South West
  • Collate the depth & breadth of manufacturing in the South West

Other reasons for being:

  • To improve the image of Manufacturing
  • To ensure that best practice is shared across all manufacturing’s sub sectors.
  • To support Southwest companies with sourcing and spare capacity issues.
  • To galvanise the sector in ensuring it participates in the development of any action plans that are needed to support the sector.
  • To encourage stability and where appropriate growth within the sector and to provide long-term employment opportunities.
  • To make better use of innovation
  • To help develop and support the RDA with any strategies and action plans to address the sectors needs.
